Everyday

Every human being on this earth has a talent engrained within them from the moment they are created. That is something major to revel about. Over 7 billion people on this planet and we ALL have a talent. Some of us have yet to discover and some of us are using it right now (for good I hope).

And then there are the people who know their talent and aren’t taking advantage of it.

Me.

Guilty as charged.

I’m not ashamed to admit that there are other goals and dreams, that would put my talent to good use, that I want to accomplish. Goals and dreams that I’ve had since I was a child. Goals and dreams that I think and daydream about everyday.

So why am I only thinking and daydreaming about it?

There are various reasons:

Scared. What if people don’t like it?

Anxious. I’ve never shown this side of me before.

Finances. What if I don’t have enough?

Time. I have so many other responsibilities.

Doubt. What if I fail?

Me. Me.

It’s always me.

Being scared, nervous, not having enough finances or time, and doubt will always be in your midst when pursuing a dream or a goal, or when you’re finally ready to use your talent. Those so-called roadblocks and excuses are there as a distraction from the real obstacle.

Me.

I am my biggest roadblock. I am my biggest excuse. I am my biggest distraction.

As I sit at my work desk everyday, Monday through Friday, doing my normal routine, my thoughts and feelings always wander to the things that I can’t stop thinking about.

Everyday my mind and my heart are aligned with the dream/goal that I want to pursue.

Everyday new ideas emerge in my mind and my hand immediately grabs a pen and paper to inscribe, so they’ll be set in stone.

Everyday I get an amazing feeling and a smile spreads across my face when I actually say to myself, “this is a great idea.”

Everyday.

So why am I only thinking about it and not doing it?

“If you can’t stop thinking about it, it’s probably worth going after.”
