The Universe in Ecstatic Motion

So I’m watching “The Princess Diaries” the other night and the scene where Julie Andrews’ character, Queen Clarisse Renald, tells Anne Hathaway’s character, Mia, that she is royalty comes on.

Now most people would be ecstatic about finding out that they’ve been royalty their whole life. They would jump at the chance to know that they can rule a country, especially at the age of 16.

However, I understand “Mia’s” hesitation.

She didn’t think she could do it.

She didn’t think she possessed the power to run a country or be taken seriously as a person.

How many of us have felt this way?

Sometimes, we go through life not looking past our noses. We stay in the box, especially when it comes to how much we feel we can achieve in our own lives. We have a difficult time thinking big.

And everyone’s “thinking big” is different. If it moves you and sets your soul on fire then that’s your “thinking big.”

However, I feel as though, we are afraid of the things that make us feel powerful. Afraid of the things that move our souls. Afraid of the things that could change our lives forever in the most positive way ever.

Why are we afraid to experience those moments? Why are we afraid of the power that has been inside of us since birth?

I love Rumi’s quote: “Stop acting so small, you are the universe in ecstatic motion.”

In this vast universe, with so many different components and aspects, we all possess a unique type of power. Some of us are aware of our abilities and attributes and some of us are still trying to figure them out.

In the end, you are a huge component of how the universe moves and operates.
